Detached

Detached is a composition for recorders and live electronics created by Lieve De Sadeleer for Delle Donne Consort.
The name detached resembles the process the quartet is going through.

Through experimenting and questioning their tradition they come to new sound worlds. In the piece you will hear clear ‘detached’, raw and hard parts, in contrast with parts which were inspired by principles from polyphonic and baroque music like rhetorical gestures, cantus firmus inspired lines… By taking these concepts out of its context, new music gets created.
