Hard rock group Nazareth hit the nail on the head in 1976: Love Hurts. Throughout music history, love with all its ups and downs has been a prominent theme. And so also within the madrigal, a genre that originated in 16th-century Italy and is characterized by enormous expressiveness. Madrigals can move people to tears or lead them to heavenly happiness. The collaboration between the recorder consort Delle Donne and the ensemble KalAido sheds new light on this genre in which the musical notes support the poetry aptly. Love madrigals from the Venetian school are the starting point of this concert that will charm, seduce and charm you under the title O dolce nocte.
